Toss the Turtle Toss the Turtle

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

One of the best launch games around.

Addicting, easy to play, and most of all, fun!

What is there to say, the graphics were detailed, and the uniqueish style was much to my appeal, and there was a lot of humoristic content added to the gameplay (what other game has a walking banana that hits you upwards with a flaming uppercut ripped off from street fighter? XD). Kudos for the turtle switching his "pained" expressions every time he hit the ground (sure, there weren't that many, but they looked awesome!)

There were lots of things you can hit, (or shouldn't hit!), and they are easy to recognize and learn what each do to you. (Spiked wall? Let's try it out!... Zomfg!)

Generally, the sounds were high-quality, and there were a nice selection of different sounds to enjoy.

Though the music was generally just a loop, the selected song was a good choice, it doesn't get boring, thanks to it's maybe a little... overdramatic style for a game like this.

Collecting all the medals was, of course, ever so satisfying, that odd, addicting "gotta get them ALL" feeling was with me all the time, and you just had to take just ONE more try ;)

The minor minus would go to the controllability in the end. You go so fast, it utterly makes it random what you will hit, and when. You go so fast, in fact, that you sometimes just "clip" through objects. That makes the controls only usable in lower speeds (which they work fairly well for when avoiding spikes & getting those prized ammo refills).

And just perhaps, just PERHAPS the golden gun is a little... um... too powerful, it leaves the 2nd best gun (bazooka) (and nearly the cannon/tank itself!) so far behind it's unbelievable when you first use the golden gun ;) It also makes the nukes look like a joke XD I would have personally preferred uberpowerful nukes with a limit on how many you could buy, and a slightly less powerful best gun. Also, I'm not sure if the gun's accuracy really changed anything, if you had the turtle in the crosshair, you wouldn't miss even with low-accuracy weapons.

Also, personal record (so far) XD : 4,932,661.3 ft, shame I didn't notice the spikes under that goomba!

That being said... when do we get "Toss a Turtle II - The 2nd Launch" ? :3

Disgusting...

But field operations are always disgusting, wether you like it or not.
Great game, much better than the first one, hope to see #3 sometime too.
That final "mission" really got me :P

Keep up the good work!

Mind blowing

I have seen real fighting games doing much worse, this is supreme.
Very professional, and most of the characters seem balanced enough.

Only some of the characters story mode battles were a bit hard, for example the Convicts final (I did beat it, eventually) is near insane when some characters get a lousy 1 vs 1 final battle :/

Otherwise this thing is pure platinum.

That was fun!

This is total fun... Theres no other words to describe it...
The simplicity of the game is yet so dam addictive that I couldnt stop until I broke off my last record, again, again and again...

Very good!

PS. Why on earth do ppl always just stand there when they know they dont have time to reload? :P

Great work! A piece of art!

The game was great, though it took me a lot of time to complete. The grapgics were nice to the eye and the sounds were good, esspecially the music in boss battles. The game was HARD,however, with the time limit and everything. Also, getting the dragon was kinda lucky, since not most people know it spawns to the "bedroom" in the 13th day ^^

Oddly enough, I completed the game WITHOUT killing disaster, therefore not even getting the disaster shield at all ^^

A great game! Please do more games like this (maybe a LITTLE easier though ^^ )

A classic, which you must play again!

Some sweet stuff again!
And gongratulations for the suppreme artist Dan Paladin, the graphics just KICK A**!
A fun game to play really, you must simply try it yourself!

Believe me, you wont be dissapointed.

The only thing I can rant about is that it should have custom keys, it can be difficult to handle, esspecially if youre a FPS n0lif3 like me :)

Good work!!!!

A nice game, indeed.

Although this reminds me of elasto mania, this is not a bad game.
Good controlls and its just nice to play... and some of the levels are just annoyingly hard. Great job!

A good base-defense game

Good work, though the graphics (especially the bullets) are not what I expected... the game is fun, but the game has some major bugs left in it (bullets and cars floating over your base), and the wrost bug is that the game froze at one point (no enemies left, but the game kept going so I couldn't proceed :( )....

If you would have polished those graphs, effects a bit more and removed the bugs this game would certanly be worth "9" at least, but as it is now, it's only worth of "7"...

Good work however.

Want to whack some kids?

Very sweet! Graphs are awesome (you did it again, Paladin!), fighting is fun and the sounds are great! The only thing I really can complain about is that the game gets pretty hard, and I got frustrated because defeating the boss is tough as hell...

Very, very sweet work! ^ ^
