One of the best launch games around.
Addicting, easy to play, and most of all, fun!
What is there to say, the graphics were detailed, and the uniqueish style was much to my appeal, and there was a lot of humoristic content added to the gameplay (what other game has a walking banana that hits you upwards with a flaming uppercut ripped off from street fighter? XD). Kudos for the turtle switching his "pained" expressions every time he hit the ground (sure, there weren't that many, but they looked awesome!)
There were lots of things you can hit, (or shouldn't hit!), and they are easy to recognize and learn what each do to you. (Spiked wall? Let's try it out!... Zomfg!)
Generally, the sounds were high-quality, and there were a nice selection of different sounds to enjoy.
Though the music was generally just a loop, the selected song was a good choice, it doesn't get boring, thanks to it's maybe a little... overdramatic style for a game like this.
Collecting all the medals was, of course, ever so satisfying, that odd, addicting "gotta get them ALL" feeling was with me all the time, and you just had to take just ONE more try ;)
The minor minus would go to the controllability in the end. You go so fast, it utterly makes it random what you will hit, and when. You go so fast, in fact, that you sometimes just "clip" through objects. That makes the controls only usable in lower speeds (which they work fairly well for when avoiding spikes & getting those prized ammo refills).
And just perhaps, just PERHAPS the golden gun is a little... um... too powerful, it leaves the 2nd best gun (bazooka) (and nearly the cannon/tank itself!) so far behind it's unbelievable when you first use the golden gun ;) It also makes the nukes look like a joke XD I would have personally preferred uberpowerful nukes with a limit on how many you could buy, and a slightly less powerful best gun. Also, I'm not sure if the gun's accuracy really changed anything, if you had the turtle in the crosshair, you wouldn't miss even with low-accuracy weapons.
Also, personal record (so far) XD : 4,932,661.3 ft, shame I didn't notice the spikes under that goomba!
That being said... when do we get "Toss a Turtle II - The 2nd Launch" ? :3
